Sony WF-1000XM3 | Workaround for volume control with voice control or smartwatch

Sony | Headphones Connect App Version: 7.2.0

Headphones Firmware Version: 3.0.0

Using with Samsung Galaxy Note 20 5G - Android 10 / One UI version: 2.5

Samsung Galaxy Watch - SM-R800 / One UI version: 1.5

Received them this morning and absolutely loving them !

Despite changing the ear tips, I can see these can get uncomfortable after some time, but you have to accept some sacrifice for the gains in other departments.

I have:

Left (L)- Set to Ambient Sound Control

Right (R) - Playback Control

but long pressing (R) takes me to Bixby Voice not Google Assistant.

Not a bad thing as I do use both on my phone.

Anyone know how to change to give Google Assistant priority when long pressing on (R) ?

It must be a setting on the phone and I'm guessing both need to be the same to work.

I can adjust the volume with voice control or my Samsung watch, so it means the Ambient Sound Control function does not need to be disabled to get volume control.

Also noticed sometimes I get a glitch saying: 'Unknown Song / Unknown Artist / Unknown Album' on the 'Status' screen of the Sony Headphone App.

Seems to sort itself out after you put the earbuds into the case and back out again.

** Another bug for Sony to fix ... **

** Sony needs to update software to allow Volume Control + Ambient Sound Control at same time not one in place of the other (maybe double tap on (L) to go to Sound Control Mode / triple tap to come out) **

** Call quality improvements are required in future software upgrades too by Sony.

Had comments saying the sound is a bit tinny and not as good as a call using the phone directly. **

You can try using the steps outlined in the Help Guide, if they don't work for you, it might be a better idea to check Samsung forums or support for any specific settings.
