I've had these headphones for 4 months, absolutely beautiful, sound great work great but last week I noticed a huge crack on the left hand earpiece. I'm pretty careful with my gadgets so completely surprised by this?
I'm sort of shocked, I've had Sony headphones before that have lasted a decade and still work well, these things cost me £300 ish and have lasted 4 months??
I've been looking online apparently a known problem. Many people have had them break in exactly the same place.
What should I do?

Hi @PaulJohnBroadley and welcome to the Community
Don't worry too much, there is a remedy for those suffering this problem.
Sony will offer a free repair
(As long as its on the bracket I think - contact them and double check)
Have a look at This thread for details
cheers
Irritatingly Sony demand the receipt before they will fix the item udner warranty.
Given that the product only 6 months old this seems unfortunate, especially for me.
I know where I bought it , when I bought it, I have the item on a bank statement, but they need the recept.. Warning everyone.
To me this seems completely unreasonable, beware everyone!.
Got to be said, I'm now about to go to Which, Amazon, Techradar and comment on the item and the reviews. I expect headphones to last more than 3 months.

It's just normal routine with any dealer.
You get a free repair or exchange so what's the issue?
Why can't you just provide the receipt and get the thing done instead of losing time whining???
If you loose it, just ask a duplicate to your reseller, you'll get one right away.
