MDR 1000x multipoint inadequate

I use iPhone for music and iPad for video on my commute. My Bose QC35 can deal with both. Sennheiser Momentum can deal with both. Bluetooth "dongle" I bought years ago can deal with both - and that was a Sony device. 

So, why do I have to disable/enable to switch between phone and pad with 1000x ( which I am otherwise happy with ) ?

Recognise it is very much a "first world problem" but is stopping MDR from ticking all my boxes.

Is there a solution-now or planned ?

Same issue, I was just on the north american forum and there seems to be the same consensus.  I'm hoping this can be fixed with a software update.
