Bluetooth headphones which don't disable noise-cancellation during calls.

Hi, Can anyone confirm what recent models of tactile bluetooth over the ear headphones with high quality noise cancellation, preferably in the Sony range but can be other manufacturers, do NOT disable noise cancellation during phone calls?  I have some Parrot Zik 2's and Some Old Samsung level Over's and they don't do this, but I hear the Sony MDR-X1000XM2 and MDR-1000XM3's do.

Perhaps Sony did this with some headphones as they figure the lost sales from this rather inconvenient function amount to less than the legal and associated costs from any accidents as the result of people not hearing external noises when making phone calls or such?

At any rate, I'm one of the 99.99% of people who tend to look before crossing the road (regardless of whether I'm wearing headphones or not) so this bug/feature would do nothing for me but make phone calls pretty much impossible, at least in noisy environments.

I've noticed many questions have been asked about this in this forum but mods pretty much invariably ignore the questions, but if anyone can suggest any other reason Sony would hamstring the phone call function in this way I'd be interested to hear it.

Hi @Califauna

IDK about other brands, but I'm sure Sony headphones all disable NC on calls. I'm not sure why this is the case across the board. It must be a technical limitation somehow.

Thanks.

It can't be a technical limitation with all different headphones because no other manufacturers do this as far as I know. Certainly not the ones whose headphones I currently have or have had in the past. Do you mean a technical limitation with Sony headphones that for some reason Sony has not been able  to overcome?

I can't speak for Sony here but what I can tell you with confidence is that Sony looks at feedback to improve upon their products all the time. I'd suggest submitting a ticket on the contact us page of the Sony website. You never know what a firmware update can do.
