Win7 64b ATi driver update - Sony

I have problem with updating drivers for my ATi Mobility Radeon 5650 on my Windows 7 64b system. I know and understand why doesn't CCC work but when i downloaded sony driver for ati graphics (EP0000230054.exe), but when I run it (and allow instalation), it just extracts "something somewhere" (in process list still running instalation), then I got command screen (black screen with white "_" flashing) and then it stops, returns back to windows and nothing (and no longer in process list). "Run as admin" doesn't help.

Could you please help me?

What Vaio model do you have?

What version of the driver is already installed? Is it possible that the update is already installed?

Oh my god, I am so dumb.

If 8.723.8.2 (dl page shows) is same as 8.723.8.2000 (pc shows) then it is already installed.

Sorry for wasting your time.

But at EA support told me, that texture problem in Battlefield 3 is known issue and is solved by new driver, any idea when could Sony release some?

I sympathise - you would expect a message to that effect.

I would email Vaio Support with your question. Sony are not the quickest to update unless it is essential.

You may not get an immediate answer but the more users who register the need to update the driver, the sooner it will happen.
