VGN-FJ1Z/w,problem with sound

Hi I have a sony Vaio VGN-FJ1Z/W. I have reinstalled windows xp using the recovery disc. Now the sound is not fine. It distorts every 4 sec interval...Can anyone help please.....Thank you in advance
