Uninstall windows messenger on my computer.

Hi all,

I recently bought a second hand Sony Vaio PCV-RX405, I took it back to factory default, set up a new user name, so i had everything back to basic, did the microsoft updates and got service pack 3. Since then programmes have been installed which i do not want mainly windows messenger! But when i go to control panel, add/remove programs, Windows messenger is not there. Can anyone help me on this matter?

Hi kayleigh.dudie,

I don't think you can remove it under Win Xp but you can stop it from running. Have a look at the following Microsoft article.
