TX1XP screen not black

Apart from being noisy, my TX1XP also has a disturbing light coming up from the bottom of the screen. If I make the background pitch black and increase the brightness of the screen to mid-high values, I can see that the background light also illuminates the front of the screen.

I can see a similar effect on the old T1 but not as distinguished as this. On the T1, the screen seems to be illuminated from the sides and the bottom, but on the TX1 it's only illuminated from the bottom.

I can imagine being pretty annoyed at it if I watch a dark movie and the lower 1-2 cm is not dark at all.

Is it a defect on my unit or are all TX1 screens like this?

So I have two "pre-production" flaws that Sony have promised reviewers to sort out before launch. Both the fan noise and the screen. The question is, did I get a pre-production unit or did Sony fail to deliver on those promises?

Mine is probably going back.

This has been noted on reviews of pre production models but the reviewers have said that Sony will correct before launching. Got it on mine but not a major issue.
