sony vgn ns10l-what type of disc to buy for recovery or backup

Hey hope somebody can help me, this laptop is my first and I am still learning what to do on here. I have read the manual on how to create discs for recovery use but I dont know what disc I am meant to buy. It tells me not to use like BLU RAY DISC MEDIA, DVD-RAM, CD-R OR CD-RW. I went into currys today and he said I need the DVD-R but the guy at Marks and Spencers where I bought laptop says CD+RW. PLEASE HELP!!!

welcome to Club VAIO..

I've always used TDK DVD+R discs when creating recovery discs but Verbatim and Sony should also work ok..
