Monitor query

I have a sony 15" tft SDM-HS53 montior with my vaio RS402...

A green flashing/wavey portion has recently appeared on the left side of the picture at least an inch & a half big.

is this a common problem? will i have to send the monitor back?

No, I don¿t think it¿s normal.
Did you have you monitor on for a long time?
I suggest you send it back, if you are still under warranty.

I second that - not normal at all.

i've seen that happen to t.v's the colour go's a purple colour just in the top corner

i think its due to some sort of magnitism from other eletronic appliance's
not sure on that though

Yeah you're right Ben, it's because magnets have been near the screen.
