DVD-R Update

Hi.
I recently bought a new Vaio RX 417 with a Pioneer A04 DVD-R Drive. Pioneer issued an update for that drive so it can burn at 2x. I wanted to run this update but it does not work ("Kernel mismatches"). Do you have any idea what I can do? Is there a SOny update available which I have not found?

If there is a Sony update available then it should be at www.vaio-link.com

Fill in your serial number and you should get a list of available updates.

Sounds like a Pioneer problem, search their knowledge base, maybe they have some info to help you out.

Go to www.vaio-link.com and search for Solution D00282 I think this might refer to the latest Sony firmware update for this drive. I can't check because it's only available to registered users,
