1394 Connection

Is it possible to connect a Win XP (VAIO Laptop) with a Win 98SE (Desktop PC 5 years old) via 1394 Connection. I have on both PC an firewire connection.

Only Windows ME will bridge the two operating platforms. But try PC Anywhere that might work.

Yup Symantec and it's £25 here Google and have a look at the range of sites that will support cross platform connections but have your firewall ramped up

Really, you can't connect a banana to an orange. I couldn't even use a Trust cable connection to connect XP Pro to XP home without a proxy server. Maybe try Spoon Proxy might work for you.

But I want connect the PC via Firewire. In the Mnaul of my Vaio is an discription to connect two Vaio together. I have tryed this with my "old" Desktop but only the Vaio shows an connection in the Systemtray.

You're better off buring a cheap £4 ethernet card and a twisted pair cable. All done for < £10
