Sony Bravia and Iomega Media Centre HDD

I'm having a problem viewing videos from my Iomega Media Centre Cloud Edtion HDD on my Sony Bravia TV. I have tried downloading and instaling the latest firmware of both devices without any luck. When I navigate to the "Videos" option on my TV, I can see the folders on the external HDD but all are empty.

The strange this is, I have no problem viewing and playing the same media files hosted on my Sony Viao laptop on the same network through the TV

Is the Bravia TV only DLNA compliant with Sony products?

No DLNA is standard platform  - I run my content from a Synology NAS without any issues. Strange it can't see any files at all though as you might expect it to see something.

You are browsing for video files via the video tab on the Xross Media bar right? You know you can't look at music via video/pictures via audio or any other mix combo.. Normally if you do, nothing shows up in the directory, even though you can browse to it..
