Can't turn off my xperia v

Hi;

I can't turn off my xperia v (android 4.1). When i press the on/off button in the side it shows 3 choices: Turn off, airplane mode and screen shot, but when i press the first one the phone restart instead of turning off. Plz help

Are you volume buttons working well?I suggest you try power button+vol up until the phone vibrates.

No,you do not need to root.Download sony update service and repair:

So holding power and volume up for atleast 15 seconds gives no vibration - 1 is a reset - keep holding and 3 is a shut down
