Problem conecting to internet Sony BDP S-780

Hi

I have a Sony BDP S780 Sony blueray player.

It conects fine to my LAN,but i cant reach internet throgh my router.It´s impossible to update the firmware.

The player tell me theres a new firmware but it don´t connect.

My router is a Thomson TG789VN,and the ISP is Telia in Sweden.

I can play files from my DNLA-server,and i can remotecontroll the playe from my phone.

It´s just the conection to internet that not works.

I´ve been google the problem and i found that the Sony player pings the router and don´t get an answer.

Problem is that the router won´t answer to pings.There is not recomended for routers to answer pings.

Some do and some dont.

Why is it so that Sony ain´t compatible to Swedens largest ISP.

Is it not possible to use a Sony Bluerayplayer in Sweden with full functionallity.

Is there some kind of solusion to this problem.

I have now updated the firmware with a CD-R.

I have still trouble with the internet connection.

When trying to conect to Sonysever or check the internet settings.i get the Gateway not responding messege.

Every other funktion like youtube etc works fine now when the player don´t try to conect to Sony.

This PING issue should Sony do somthing about.I will have the same problem next time Sony releases a firmware.

Is it possible to change that in a firmware?
