IS BLU RAY DEAD ALREADY??

Hi all,

with the advent of smart tv and some players more and more people are turning their attention to some if not all of the media services available so does that mean the end of Blu Ray discs already?, well Samsung seems to think so, check the link.

but then even if this takes off whats to stop the service providers from following suit and doing what they are doing in Korea?

oh well, i think i'll keep my player for a little while yet!

Interesting piece - Blu-ray is still very much needed in games consoles. You see the new Nintendo has some wierd Blu-ray based disc ( which won't actually play retail Blu-ray discs as it doesn't conform to the official standard). Presumably Microsoft have realised they will need some high capacity disc on their next console as spanning games across multiple discs isn't a great experience..

Its definitely the last package media, but I personally think will be around for at least another decade or so, maybe up to 200GB..
