HDCP error suddenly appeared - April 2020

Hello everyone,

Dilemma in operation!

I’ve got my sky Q going through my HDMI 1 port on the Sony sound system (BDV N7200W) to the TV and it all worked perfectly for about six months. Then I got the dreaded ‘HDCP screen not supported’ screen and now I can’t get Sky to watch.
I’ve changed the HDMI cable, unpowered everything and made sure all software was up2date. Still no good. Now here’s the thing. When I disconnected the HDMI cable from the back of the sound system, thus connecting the Sky box straight into a TV HDMI port, Sky worked. If I go back to the original set up, then it doesn’t. I then put the Sky box HDMI cable into the HDMI 2 port in the back of the sound system and Sky worked again. Clearly my problem is HDMI port 1 on the sound system. Stupid question, can this still be an easy fix software/setting issue or a hardware one? Can HDMI ports suddenly stop working?

TIA everyone,

S

Ho @sudajan, if is not a "new version" of DHCP problem on HDMI 1... Have you try to clean the HDMI Socket whit a little brush?
