No sound when connecting Samsung Blu-ray player

I have connected a Samsung Blu-ray player to my Bravia 49XE8004 I get picture but no sound, have put a new HDMI cable on and connect through ARC HDMI.

have you tried different audio-output settings on the menu of the player?
