Is ths true?

Browsing some stupid random facts website and came across this:

In 1998, Sony accidentally sold 700,000 camcorders that had the technology to see through people’s clothes. These cameras had special lenses that use infrared light, which allowed you to see through some types of clothing.

So what do you think?  Or more importantly, where can i buy one. !

Hi,

Yes Quinnicus, I believe this is true ! I don't think it has anything to do with a 'special technology' like James Bond for instance, apparently it is to do with the nightshot feature which is infrared light. Unscrupulous / mischievous youths were allegedly using this feature in night clubs and pubs, they say it works best on white clothing. Personally I find it useful when fishing at night - a completely different kind of fishing before you ask !

Perhaps the clubs & pubs have grown wise to this, after all how do you smuggle a camcorder around on a night out ? Just wait until mobile phones get nightshot !!

If it ain't broke don't fix it
