sony dsc-hx20v has anyone found a useful way of overcoming lcd glare when shooting in sunlight
Hi Brian
It's a problem with all cameras without viewfinders. It's not entirely different to the challenges of shooting with a 19th century glass plate camera... which is why photographers used a black cloth.
Fortunately the screen on a modern compact is illuminated and it should be enough to postion yourself such that the sun doesn't strike the screen.
The best way is to keep the sun to the side, rather than directly behind. If this isn't practical for some reason, shield the screen with your left hand.
Cheers
Mick
Thanks Mick
I purchased a Delkin DU 3.0" shade today from my local camera store who also fitted it

Good stuff Brian, glad to hear it
Always very useful to hear of a successful workaround.
