Change video recording mode between PAL/NTSC?
Hi,
I have a DSC-HX60V, bought in Peru, and is standard fitted to record videos in NTSC.
1080 60i (NTSC) is the video mode, but I need 1080 50i (PAL)....
How can I do this?
Would a software update be available to change the camera to a standard PAL camera?
See image on std video recording formats that I have. I need 50fps/25fps.

Hi floriaantasche,
Welcome to the Sony Community.
I believe the switch function is only available in PAL.
Have a look here for more details.
Thanks,

The switch functionality you are referring to is about playback.
I'm looking for a way to change *recording* to PAL.
Would it be possible to download different firmware of the camera to change
the specs to a 50i (PAL) camera?
Thanks,
Floriaan

Hi @floriaantasche,
here is how to do it: http://pdf.crse.com/manuals/4529923111/EN/contents/TP0000227261.html
If your model is an "NTSC-only" device, you might not be able to change it.
Since you bought it outside the EU, you also have no guarantee inside your home country.
While cameras might be less expensive in the country you go on vacation, all these disatvantages have to be considered.

Hi @IamNic,
Thanks for feedback. The switch you are reverting to is for playback, I'm looking to change recorder mode.
Bought the camera, because mine was stolen - then choices are pretty limited.
Thanks again,
Floriaan

Hi @floriaantasche,
as I said, there are "E" models (european) models, which are 25/50 fpsonly and there are international cameras which can record 30/60 fps.
I doubt your camera can be switched.
