Ethernet connection speed.

Hi,

Does anyone know the network speed of my KD-49XG9005?

I'm trying to play 4K content from my network drive but I keep getting buffering.

Looking forward to hearing from you,

Regards

Paul

Hi again,

I already tried VLC and the Video app that was pre-loaded, they all do the same.

I asked on another forum and was told the Ethernet connection was not fast enough to stream 4K.

The advice was to switch over to 5Ghz WiFi and since I tried that, it has been OK so far.

I'll let you know how I get on long term.

Regards,

Paul

Hi,

Unfortunately I am still having issues playing files from my NAS drive.

Every now and then (mainly on larger UHD files) playback either buffers or stops.

It's a pity the hardwired connection isn't faster.

Paul

What do you expect from the support ? Just do the math: file size/duration in seconds *8. If it is closer or over 100mbps you'll never succeed.  But in this case you are trying probably to stream a bluray and I'd suggest you to use the disk.

Incase you are under let say 90 mbps  you have a problem with your network setup or your nas
