DSLR-A290, Battery issue

Hi,

After taking fer pictures, message like Incompatible battery, use correct model appeared in DSLR-A290. I been using same battery since 2 years. Could some one explain to me, what caused like so?

Hi udaslelmi, welcome to the Sony Forums

There's a chip built in to the battery which identifies it as compatible with your camera. The only reason I can imagine it no longer works is because the chip may have become damaged or somehow no longer readable by the camera.

If you can get access to another genuine battery, you should be able to establish whether it is the battery or the camera which is at fault.
