kdl 40s2530 getting 9 red flashes

hi i have sony bravia kdl 40s2530 and i am getting 9 red flashes after the screen goes black a few times, works fine for about 10 mins after a power reset, tv is out of warranty so anyone got an idea what is wrong with it or parts to exchange, thanks James

You mean 9 LED flashes ?

If you use a MPG4 decoder in CAM slot try removing and inserting again with Power OFF.

If not solved then problem is a faulty CAM reader board or/and Tuner board.

Usually(almost 100%) is a faulty CAM board with a burned out diode.

A Sony electronics technician can repair/replace diode or perform a replacement of both CAM board and Tuner board, which are cheap nowdays, for better and sure results.

Hi there

According to the service manual for your TV. 9 blinks is: DTT Trouble (Communications / BS_CS_PROT)

Advise you to follow MiCal1967 suggestion above. Just bear in mind that this model TV is almost 10 years old now, parts will be hard to find and probably in all likelyhood uneconomical to repair.
