HDMI OUT

Hi,I have VGN-AR21S with Window Vista Home Premium, I used HDMI OUT to connect my SONY BRAVIA TV,it just display picture but no sound , than I set Digital output as default device,it's still not working. Anyone can help me?

Hi there!

Did you set the sound to digital before trying to play the file?
(otherwise you won't get any sound until you close and restart the app eg Media player)

Yes, I set the sound to digital ,and restarted three times,it still that problem.

Hey I know this is an old post but I will respond anyway 🙂

You need to right-click on your speaker icon in the systray (bottom right corner)

Click play back devices and highlight the Digital Output Device (S/PDIF and HDMI) and choose properties.

Choose the Output Channel Tab and select the Digital output selection to either:

For HDMI and S/PDIF

or Only for HDMI

Click ok

Make sure you set the digital Output device as the default output.

Hope this works for you as it did with me.

I think the default only send digital output through S/PDIF optical output.
