Lose internet & outlook connections when conecting mobile via USB

Have 2 week old SR29XN running Vista Business and Office 2007. Have installed Windows Mobible Device Centre and set up went well and didn't notice any problems for a couple of days. However, today I connected my device (O2 Orbit 1 with WM6) via the USB and it took several attempts (error messages) before connection was confirmed and sync took place.

I then attempted to connect to the internet and Outlook and couldn't. The only way I can connect is to disconnect the phone first. I've even tried reconnecting the phone whilst on the internet and/or outlook and both just disconnect.

Help please.

Hi charfieldstfc,

have you tried deleting your O2 Orbit from the sync center restarting vista and try setting it up the sync partnership again.?

I hadn't, but I have now tried that, without success. I've also tried another device (headphones) in the USB port which installed without problem and I didn't lose the internet and outlook connections.

Guess that points the problem squarely at the O2 Orbit 1?
