Question:reset to factory settings..disc?

Hi, Where Can I get set-up(?) disc?

I want to reset my old VGN-FZ21E to factory settings but when I tried it asked me to insert disc...I don't have the disc I got when I bought it.Can I get this from Sony? I looked on the website but couldn't find a link.

Any advice please

You are not supplied with an actual recovery disc but your Vaio does have a hidden HDD recovery partition, usually you would have been prompted to create a set of recovery discs when you first started your vaio..:smileywink:

Here is guide on how to create a set of recovery discs..

Alternatively you should be able to recover your Vaio using the hidden HDD recovery partition..

Turn on your computer and press the F10 key several times when you see the VAIO logo..

If the Edit Boot Options window is displayed, press the Enter key..

Select Vaio recovery centre..

Follow the on-screen instructions..

Hi,

I'd be interested to hear if you get anywhere with this, since I seem to have ann identical problem with my spare Vaio!

It just goes into a daft loop demanding an non-existent installation disc, and then pretending to start the "recovery" program, which promptly expires until I click OK, and then it switches off.....

And so on, and on and - etc.!
