8400M GT Driver for Vista 64b VGN-FZ21M

Hello,

I have upgraded my VGN-FZ21M from Vista 32b to Vista 64b.

Unfortunately, Sony doesn't provide the driver for the 8400M GT under Vista 64b and Vaio's are locked on Sony drivers only.

I have looked everywhere and called every contact support in vain.

Does a list of drivers exist? Could I use a driver for another model that runs Vista 64b on a 8400M GT by default and if so which model might that be?

Hi Johnnybe,

If you are unable to find a Vaio with the same GPU that has Windows 7 64-bit Win 7 upgrade driver then you will need a modified .inf file in order for the nVidia driver to be recognised and installed.

Have a look at the following link – be sure to read the ‘Quick Start Guide’ towards the bottom right.
