      <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;Hi elvissambuca,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;welcome to Club VAIO..:smileyhappy:&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Is this what you are looking for.?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;XP drivers install instructions for the VGN-SZ61 series. &lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;1) Make sure that :&lt;BR /&gt; a. the Vaio is set on Speed mode, by moving the switch above the keyboard to&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; Stamina (by default it is set to Speed mode)&lt;BR /&gt; b. the Wireless switch above the keyboard is switched on.&lt;BR /&gt; c. The unit is connected on AC power&lt;BR /&gt; d. No 3rd party hardware is connected / installed on the unit when starting&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; this process.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;2) Install Windows XP Professional with SP2&lt;BR /&gt; ! Important note : &lt;BR /&gt; a. In case you still would like to recover using F10 from the hard disk to the&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; original Vista preinstalled operating system, please leave the recovery partition&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; in tact. &lt;BR /&gt; b. In case you would like to free up some space and remove the recovery partition,&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; please make sure to first create a set of recovery discs using the Recovery&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; wizard in your Vista preinstalled installation.&lt;BR /&gt; c. We recommend to quick format the partition you wish to install Windows XP&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; on to avoid conflicts with the preinstalled OS.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;3) When the windows XP setup is complete please open the downloaded utilities&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; folder, open the BIOS folder and run the installer. Reboot the system when done&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; to complete the installation. After the reboot the system will finalise the&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; BIOS installation and switch off. Please switch the unit back on to continue&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; with the installation.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;4) After the reboot enter windows and go to the downloaded Utilities folder&lt;BR /&gt; Install the utilities in the correct order. Starting with Utilities folder 1&lt;BR /&gt; a. When during the setup the system asks to reboot, please do so and continue&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; with the next folder when back in windows.&lt;BR /&gt; b. When installing the Vaio Event Service, please select the typical install&lt;BR /&gt; c. When installing the battery care function, please install first the setup&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; in folder 1, then run the setup in folder 2&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;5) When the utilities are reinstalled exit the Utilities folder and open the&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; downloaded Drivers folder. Then open the Chipset folder to run the setup. When&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; the setup is completed, press finish to restart the PC&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;6) Audio driver installation :&lt;BR /&gt; a. After the reboot, open the Drivers folder, then the audio folder, open folder&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; 1 and run the “KB835221 – Audio hotfix” file and follow the&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; install instructions. &lt;BR /&gt; b. 2 Found new hardware dialogs will pop up. Press cancel on these screens&lt;BR /&gt; c. Press finish on the KB835221 setup wizard screen&lt;BR /&gt; d. Go back out of folder 1 and open folder 2&lt;BR /&gt; e. Run the setup file in this folder. Follow the on-screen instructions.&lt;BR /&gt; f. Restart the system when finished&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;7) A Found new hardware dialog will appear after the reboot (Modem installation).&lt;BR /&gt; a. Select No, not this time and press next&lt;BR /&gt; b. It will want to install a Modem device. Select “Install from a list&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; of specific location” and press next&lt;BR /&gt; c. Select “Search for the best driver in these locations”&lt;BR /&gt; d. Deselect “Search removable media” &lt;BR /&gt; e. Select “include this location in the search”. Press on browse&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; and browse to the modem folder in the Drivers folder and press OK&lt;BR /&gt; f. Click on next to continue&lt;BR /&gt; g. A Pop-up will appear, please press on “Continue Anyway”&lt;BR /&gt; h. Press on Finish to complete the installation&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;span class="lia-unicode-emoji" title=":smiling_face_with_sunglasses:"&gt;😎&lt;/span&gt; Graphics installation :&lt;BR /&gt; a. Since we are in Speed mode we will first install the Nvidia Graphics driver:&lt;BR /&gt; i. Open the Video_speed folder&lt;BR /&gt; ii. Run the setup file in the folder and follow the on-screen instructions.&lt;BR /&gt; iii. The screen will flash a couple of times during the installation, this is&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; normal.&lt;BR /&gt; iv. When the install is finished, it will ask to restart the computer, please&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; do so&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;b. Now switch the Stamina/Speed switch above the keyboard to Stamina. Select&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; restart now to switch to Stamina mode.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;c. When windows has restarted a Found new hardware wizard will pop-up.&lt;BR /&gt; i. Select “No, Not this time” and press Next&lt;BR /&gt; ii. Select “Install from a list or specific location” and press&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; Next&lt;BR /&gt; iii. Select “include this location in the search”. Press on browse&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; and browse to the Drivers folder and then to the Video_stamina folder and press&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; OK&lt;BR /&gt; iv. Press Next&lt;BR /&gt; d. When this is finished a couple of Found new hardware pop-up windows can appear.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; &lt;BR /&gt; i. Select “Yes, this time only” and press Next&lt;BR /&gt; ii. Select “Install the software automatically” and press Next&lt;BR /&gt; iii. Press Finish then the installation is complete.&lt;BR /&gt; e. Windows will prompt you to restart the system, please press Yes to restart&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;BR /&gt; 9) Bluetooth installation :&lt;BR /&gt; a. Open the Bluetooth_driver folder&lt;BR /&gt; b. Run the setup program. Follow the on-screen instructions&lt;BR /&gt; c. Reboot the PC when requested at the end of the installation&lt;BR /&gt; d. After the reboot the computer will make some sounds indicating new hardware&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; being connected, this is normal.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;10) Wireless LAN drivers installation:&lt;BR /&gt; a. Browse to the folder Drivers and then open the WLAN_drivers folder&lt;BR /&gt; b. Start the setup file and follow the on-screen instructions.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Other drivers installations :&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Open the Device manager :&lt;BR /&gt; c. Go to Start &amp;gt; Control Panel&lt;BR /&gt; d. Double click on “System”&lt;BR /&gt; e. Click on the Hardware tab and click on “Device Manager”&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;11) Camera driver installation :&lt;BR /&gt; a. Click on the + before Universal Serial Bus controllers&lt;BR /&gt; b. Right click on “USB Composite device” and select Update driver&lt;BR /&gt; c. Select in the Wizard “No, not this time” and press Next&lt;BR /&gt; d. Select “Install from a list or a specific location” and press&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; Next&lt;BR /&gt; e. Select “Don’t search, I will choose the driver to install”&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; and press Next&lt;BR /&gt; f. Press on “Have Disk…”&lt;BR /&gt; g. Browse to the folder Drivers and then Camera_Driver and press Open&lt;BR /&gt; h. Press Finish when done.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;12) Network controller driver installation:&lt;BR /&gt; a. Right click on the Ethernet Controller item under Other devices and select&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; Update driver&lt;BR /&gt; b. Select “No, not this time” and press Next&lt;BR /&gt; c. Select “Install from a specific location” and press Next&lt;BR /&gt; d. Click on Browse and browse to the Drivers folder and select there the Network&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; folder and press Ok&lt;BR /&gt; e. Click on Next&lt;BR /&gt; f. Click on Finish when done&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;BR /&gt; 13) Mass Storage controller (Memorystick):&lt;BR /&gt; a. Right click on the Mass Storage Controller item under Other devices and select&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; Update driver&lt;BR /&gt; b. Select “No, not this time” and press Next&lt;BR /&gt; c. Select “Install from a specific location” and press Next&lt;BR /&gt; d. Click on Browse and browse to the Drivers folder and select there the FlashMedia&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; folder and press Ok&lt;BR /&gt; e. Click on Next&lt;BR /&gt; f. Click on Finish when done&lt;BR /&gt; g. Restart the PC&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;14) Memory stick Icon installation&lt;BR /&gt; a. Browse to the folder Drivers and then Memorystick_driver_patch in the drivers&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; folder&lt;BR /&gt; b. Run the Install Batch file in the folder&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;15) Touchpad driver :&lt;BR /&gt; a. Go to Start &amp;gt; Control Panel&lt;BR /&gt; b. Double click on “System”&lt;BR /&gt; c. Click on the Hardware tab and click on “Device Manager”&lt;BR /&gt; d. Click on the + before Mice and other pointing devices&lt;BR /&gt; e. Right click on the PS/2 Compatible mouse item and select Update driver&lt;BR /&gt; f. Select “No, not this time” and press Next&lt;BR /&gt; g. Select “Install from a specific location” and press Next&lt;BR /&gt; h. Click on Browse and browse to the Drivers folder and select there the Pointing&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; folder and press Ok&lt;BR /&gt; i. Click on Next&lt;BR /&gt; j. Click on Finish when done&lt;BR /&gt; k. Restart the PC&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;16) Sony Image filter&lt;BR /&gt; Note :Only applicable in case you did not install the optional TMP utility&lt;BR /&gt; a. Open the Sony Image filter folder in the drivers folder&lt;BR /&gt; b. Run the Install Batch file&lt;BR /&gt; c. Select Continue Anyway&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;17) TPM module installation (for units with a TPM module)&lt;BR /&gt; Note :Only applicable in case you did not install the optional TMP utility&lt;BR /&gt; a. Go to Start &amp;gt; Control Panel&lt;BR /&gt; b. Double click on “System”&lt;BR /&gt; c. Click on the Hardware tab and click on “Device Manager”&lt;BR /&gt; d. Right click on the Unknown device item under Other devices and select Update&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; driver&lt;BR /&gt; e. Select “No, not this time” and press Next&lt;BR /&gt; f. Select “Install from a specific location” and press Next&lt;BR /&gt; g. Click on Browse and browse to the Drivers folder and select there the TPM&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; folder and press Ok&lt;BR /&gt; h. Click on Next&lt;BR /&gt; i. Click on Finish when done&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;18) Fingerprint module installation (for units with a fingerprint reader)&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;a. Open the fingerprint_driver folder and run the installation file.&lt;BR /&gt; b. Follow the on-screen instructions&lt;BR /&gt; c. Restart the system when completed.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;19) For the models with integrated Wireless WAN functionalities :&lt;BR /&gt; Important notes : &lt;BR /&gt; * Some operator specific functionalities will not be available after the &lt;BR /&gt; downgrade to Windows XP (e.g. Video telephony, etc)&lt;BR /&gt; * Make sure the battery is properly connected to the Vaio.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;a. Open the WWAN folder in the Drivers folder&lt;BR /&gt; b. Run the setup.exe file.&lt;BR /&gt; c. When the setup is complete, open the Wireless Switching Utility (click on&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; Start ? Control Panel ? Switch to classic view ?Vaio control Center ? Network&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; connections ? Wireless switch settings)&lt;BR /&gt; d. Enable the Wireless WAN function by ticking the box in front of it and press&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; Ok.&lt;BR /&gt; e. The system will now automatically start install the drivers, this can take&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; 1-2 minutes.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;? Use the Globetrotter icon on the desktop to start the Wireless WAN connection&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; manager.&lt;BR /&gt; ? Make sure to insert your SIM card properly in the slot behind the battery&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; and to re-insert the battery afterwards.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;This completes the XP downgrade setup.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Important note : DVD playback is not natively supported in Windows XP, so a&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; separate program is needed in order to playback DVD movies.
