Hi Thalamus -

Belated thank you for your assistance last month with my "dead" Vaio. Been absent since, but thought you'd like to know that I'm afraid all attempts are resuscitation failed and the laptop is now no more.

I ussed the Restore discs provided by Sony, and then sent if back for analysis. The verdic was memory failure and a predicted bill for £400 to possibly restore it.

I replaced it with a little Acer which does all that's required for a fraction of the price.

Thanks for your time and advice anyway.

Regards.

JonC
