topic Why is display orientation pull-down for windows 7 missing? in PCs & Accessories

Hi,

I have a new Sony VAIO Z21V9E/B, running windows 7 pro, pre-installed at purchase. I connect multiple monitors, and would like to use one of them in the portrait mode rather than the landscape mode (that is, rotated 90 degrees). Normally I should go to "Screen resolution", and there should be a drop-down for "Orientation", which should be below "Display", "Resolution", and "Multiple displays", but somehow the "Orientation" drop-down is missing. The only suggested reason for this on the internet is out-of-date graphics driver, but the driver seems up to date. It does not seem to make a difference whether I connect the external monitor to the VGA or HDMI ports on the laptop and on the docking station.

This is not a problem on the slightly older model Sony VAIO VPCZ11Z9E/B, which I bought 1.5 years ago.

Can anyone help?

Thanks,

Zi.
