Failed Memory stick controller

The Sony Memory stick controller on my computer running XP has installed but doesn't work after a few years of no problem.

It is part of the XP Installation programme but apart from re installing XP itself to see if it will re-start (not an option I want to take lightly (it takes for-ever) I can't think what else I can do.

Does it need a driver for instance, I've tried to find this out on the Sony web site but that's like being on a round about getting no where!

If it does where can I get a replacement Download please.

Hi,

Which model Vaio do you have?

If you look in Device Manager are there any yellow errors shown against disc drives?

Have you tried it with more than one MemoryStick?

What size is the MemoryStick you are trying to use? I recall an update was needed for 8GB cards and above.
