Computer is mute

I just installed skype and could not make the speakers on my vaio work. Now I seem to have muted all sound grrr! Nothing is obviously muted and the speakers check says they are working. Have uninstalled skype but computer still mute! Help please.

Racheleilizabeth,

I assume that you have re-booted after uninstalling Skype? This can sometimes sort out this sort of problem.

Otherwise open Contol Panel > Sound >Playback tab and make sure that Speaker/HP is selected as the default device.
