Xperia Z5 Sudden Death

Phone was working fine until the screen went dark. Phone was at ~65%, and I thought it strange.

Attempted to power on device, but unresponsive. Plugged in to charger, but no LEDs responding.

Device became extremely hot, so unplugged to allow to cool off for several hours.

Plugged device back in for approximately 2 hours, periodically checking for overheating, though it did not.

Attempted to power on again afterward with no success.

Attempted ALL of the following troubleshooting steps on the official Sony website (http://support.sonymobile.com/global-en/xperiaz5/faq/I-cannot-power-on-my-device/).

NOTHING has worked thus far.

I'm expecting Sony to take some accountability for allow such an inferior product to be distributed for resale.

There is no excuse for this. Why create a work of art WITHOUT substance? Sony makes the most beautiful electronics, but tends to fall short in quality assurance. Quite sad, really.

I'm sorry to hear about your issue but you have to contact your Local support to get it inspected.

this is one last thing that I would try

connect the phone to a wall charger > press and hold power & volume up for 10 seconds > let it charge for 2-3 hours > check again.

Thanks for the prompt response.

I've attempted your suggestion earlier today. Nothing.

Cannot contact local support as my phone is dead. Tried calling via skype from my pc, but it won't connect.

I'm completely cutoff at the moment.

Is there a toll-free landline phone number for South Africa?

The phone number listed on Sony's support site (+27 861 632222) is recognized as "mobile," therefore skype won't connect the call without outrageous fees. smh

Any follow up on this thread?

I experienced the same thing - my Z5 won't turn on despite doing all possible remedies in the sony website. The local support here in PH cannot do anything about it because I bought my Z5 in US and it is different from the Z5 being sold here.

I have the same problem, and no answer of Sony
This happened 6 month after i bought it, it's like just throw the money to the trash.

Same thing happened to mine less than 4months in..

my own cellphone did exactly the same. i contact my assurance compagnie (in canada we have assurion) they quickly change my cellphone. but the new one die the same way a month later. now i'm stuck whit a beautifull black brick. can anyone help us please?
