Should be capable, as Qualcomm on its page says, SD810 is capable of recieve Galileo signal, but on other page, they say only SD820 will get support by firmware upgrade (from 8xx range).

Xperia devices do not presently support Galileo satellite navigation.

According to this Qualcomm website it's capable to use Galileo, but it seems they will make it exclusive to Snapdragon 820 and updated devices. It could be made exclusive in terms of "We don't give you new drivers."

I hope, that we at least get full Vulkan support for SD810, before they shutdown everything regarding support.

I've got an xperia X (Snapdragon 650) which is confirmed from Qualcomm as having support for Galileo GNSS.

Can you confirm when we'll see this firmware update hitting this model please?

When will the xperia xz get Galileo satellite navigation? From the hardware side there shouldn't be any problem. Is sony working on it? Or will the xz never get Galileo satellite navigation?

@Calle2003, welcome to our community and glad to hear that you are interested in purchasing an Xperia XZ Premium!

At present, Xperia™ XZ Premium is the only Xperia™ device that supports Galileo satellite navigation.

Note! Not all variants support Galileo satellites in U.S. territory.

Based on your user name I assume you are located somewhere in the Nordic region, so you can ignore the information regarding U.S territory (unless you plan on travelling there!).

So there is hope that the XZ will get Galileo support too? The hardware of the XZ is Galileo-capable.

paulle01=paulle02 (lost my password). Yes I'm from nordic region, exactly Germany and for this reason I'm highly interested to see Galileo support on the XZ.

I just received more information regarding Galileo satellite navigation.

Xperia models before Xperia™ XZ Premium will not receive support for Galileo satellite navigation, even if they have hardware support for it.

I have received some more information regarding this now.

The information regarding Galiileo that can be found in the white paper for both Xperia XZ Premium and Xperia XZ Premium Dual (** Not all variants support Galileo satellites in U.S. territory) means that no variants of the Xperia XZ Premium/Xperia XZ Premium Dual supports Galileo in U.S territory.
