Yellow band on screen top (Z5 Compact)

My Z5 Compact shows a yellow band on the top of the screen. Is it normal? Can I fix without having to send it to Sony?

Hi,

Could you please elaborate? Do you see this line in all menus/applications or does it appear when you do something specific? Can this line be shown at a screenshot?

I've tried to get pictures. The problem is on the screen, so taking a screenshot from this mobile will not show anything.

The pictures don't show it very well but it still can be appreciated. A spot that makes image more yellow.

As you say, it's hard to see from these pictures. It looks like you are using a screen protector, have you removed it to see if same line appear?

I have tried removing it. Still same problem, and now some bubbles (as I can't stick the protector well:smileyrolleyes:)

Unfortunately, I think this needs to be examined by a technician at an authorized service center. I suggest that you contact your Local support for information about nearest service center and/or how to proceed with this in the best possible way.

Mine two devices Z3 and Z5 the same... and the local support wont fix it saying that is a bad uasage of the phone and gave me a pre-bill budjet of around 200€ for a new sreen, for a 6 month well preserved phone?! this is not accepted SONY

i had a yellow "burn" mark appear on the lcd (Z5)... i took it into a mobile shop to confirm it was screen burn... sent it back to Sony mobiles repair service and it was replaced and returned under warranty very quickly.

didn't expect to need the Sony repair service but was really pleased with their service.

Z5 compact screen discolouration

Had my Z5 compact around a year and the screen has a yellow discolouration around the lock button as if the pixels are dying/burnt out. Only shows up when it's a light colour being displayed, darks still show up fine. Has anyone experienced this?

lets try to prove that this is not a software problem first,

try to run xperia diagnostics especially the screen/display test.. does the discoloration still appear?

how about when you boot your phone on safe mode?

if the discoloration still appear on those situations. most likely they are hardware problems, and the only thing would help is to send your device to your local service center Local support

My z5 compact only 3 month old and has a yellow on screen around the power button been like it for about 2 month's now might take it back to get looked at

My phone (Z5) has the same issue. I've had it for 1 year and 6-ish months then suddenly a yellow, burn-like thing appeared on the right side of the screen. As the phone gets hotter, the yellow gets darker and brighter but when it's not that hot the yellow is not too bright. I don't have warranty anymore since I exceeded 1yr, how much will it cost for it to be repaired?

It's a fairly regular problem with Sony phones. I had Xperia S, Z, Z3 and now Z5 with the same problem. Screen gets hot and the glue somehow turns yellow and stays that way.

Could be something else. I actually had to send my Xperia Z3 to service so many times because of yellow screen that Sony sent me a new Z5 a year ago.

Now my Z5 is showing a yellow stripe in the upper left corner. It's visible especially when the screen is in full brightness.

There's nothing you can do but to send it to Sony service center where they replace the whole screen.

Just noticed the same thing on my Z5 premium

This is the third issue I've had with my Z5 in like 3 months. Had to take it in for buttons not working twice. Can't say I'm happy with the quality of this phone. It will probably be the last sony phone I buy.
