xperia z3 keeps restarting

Hi to all, I have a big problem with my Xperia Z3, I i am using lollipop 5.0.2 . It worked
fine with no issue until yesterday when I restart my xperia z3 it just keep on restarting . I switched it off and the
on again.
Now its stuck at” Android upgrading, starting
apps” all the time and it keeps restarting. I have
tried to soft –reset nothing is happening. I have reached at a level to lose everything in the phone
especially my contacts by deciding to do a hard/
factory reset but still I cant do that using volume
up or down. I am totally stuck. Please guys any idea how to get rid of this. I cant
get into recovery mode coz nothing is happening
when I press key combination.
I will appreciate your help. . Please help help………

Remove the SIM card and see if the same occurs.

This could also be an SD card issue, so if you are using one try removing this also, this will help determine where the issue is related.

Performing a software repair using PC Companion.The process will erase all internal memory.You might need to charge your device for about 1-2 hours before so the device has at least 80% battery.

Make sure the device is not connected to computer or laptop and turned off (sometimes you have to press power button and volume up until the device vibrates 3 times or on some devices you have to press the small button near the SIM tray or on the back of the device).

Open PC companion->support zone->phone/tablet software update->repair my phone/tablet blue highlighted.Follow the steps given,do not connect your phone until prompted to press volume down while plugging USB cable. If PC companion does not start the repair process, you might need to run it in compatibility mode with Windows 7 (in some cases XP).

Right click on the app, compatibility troubleshoot I think it should be. Not sure because I don't use W8.

I am not sure but lollipop update might be over 1 GB and if you have a slower internet connection it might take some time.

sir earlier i have lollypop 5.0.2 in my xperia z3 but since i repair using sony companion it downgraged to lollypop 5.0.1 so how can i upgrade it to earlier version

There isn't a 5.0.1 version. It is only 5.0.2 and 5.1.1 after.

I am having the same issues, it will stop restarting when i remove my sd card though.

the phone was wotrking fine with the sd card inserted before i updated to the laatest software earlier today though.

I posted this earlier in another area, but it probably should have been here in the Z3 section.

My Z3 (purchased March of '15) is having the same problem. I have done factory reset, updates, repaired with Sony PC Companion, and so on. It doesn't seem to matter if the sim card or sd card are installed or not.

It started a week or two ago - I would notice that my phone was restarting itself when it was in my pocket. I thought it a bit strange but thought that I must have bumped the buttons to shut it down or restart it. Then it started happening more and more frequently. A week ago it started getting bad and I started looking into it more and I did a couple of factory resets and used the PC Companion software, but it didn't help. Sometimes it's in a loop of restarting where it doesn't get past the initial Sony Xperia screen, sometimes it goes a few seconds longer to the powered by Android screen, sometimes it makes it to the blue wavy screen and sometimes it actually starts up. It does this even if the battery is fully charged or if it's on a charger, but it does seem to run the battery down to nothing quite quickly when it's doing it's repeated restarts.

I suspect that it is overheating and immediately shutting itself down, or that it *thinks* it's overheating. Once yesterday, and again today, I saw a warning message that the temperature was too high that lasted for about a second before it shut down, all other times it just restarted with no warning. Even before that message I thought that maybe temperature was a factor. It's not like the phone has been getting really hot like it had previously with high battery discharge (ie when the phone was working hard). But I installed a CPU/battery temperature monitoring app and it was reporting CPU temperatures of up to 70C. If it reached 70C it would shut itself down shortly after that. *N.b. I don't know what the normal operating temperatures are because I didn't think to start monitoring it until yesterday. It worked for hours at a time when I was just reading and e-book with a dimmed screen, but would work for a minute or less if I switched to a more CPU-intensive app like Clash of Clans. Today has been it's worst troubles, but it did restart momentarily while I had it charging and sitting on a cold block to ensure that it's temperature is low.

I also suspect that when I leave the home or work WiFi areas and it tries to rely on mobile data or starts searching for cell towers, it craps out. Maybe it's working too hard when looking for towers? I don't know, I can't test this because now it won't start at all after dieing earlier this morning.

Any insight? Right now I think my best option is to bite the bullet and buy the Samsung S7.

My partners phone did an update to Android 6 and began this constant loop of rebooting. None of the reset methods worked so repaired with xperia companion. phone booted without sim in. but once the sim was placed in the problem reoccurred and continued even with the sim again removed. Put the sim in my Z3 dual sim and it worked... xperia companion to reload it's brain again...boot no sim ok... new Telstra sim in.... same problem back with sim or no sim in... hmmm remove SD card... boot ok .... put sim in... still ok.

Take SD to PC, no problems with SD... put SD back in phone... phone can not read the card under settings => storage. So now I'm thinking that the firmware has issues with both slots being filled... buuut maybe whoever wrote this firmware did not consider that not everyone races out and grabs the latest things when they become available. original SD Kingston 16GB class 4 Updated phone can not read, just keeps saying "checking" ok class 10 card, reads it in about 1 second ok ... class 2 card says the card is corrupted.. NONE of these cards exhibits any issues under examination by a PC. copy data from original SD (Kingston 16GB class 4) to Kingston 16GB class 10 and the phone no longer has any issues. All in indications are the firmware will not handle older cards. This short sitedness by the writers has cost in the end personal data as the phone did the update un asked. the loss of photo's for a couple of years was due to the phone apparently switching back to internal storage after the update to Android 5... So Sony, I nearly went out and bought 2 new non sony phones tonight because of this and I was not impressed with having to replace the button flex PCB on my Dual sim z3 either because not enough strain relief was in the original design.

Hello everyone!
I have the issue with my 6 months old Xperia Z3 that it restarts aging and again until I shut it down by the button next to the SIM card slot.

I got it with Android 6.0.1 installed and I spotted the issue about month ago.
Sometimes it happens when charging my phone and sometimes when the battery is running low. Every time that I see the phone restarting the temperature in the upper parts of casing is very high.

One week ago it also started to happen when I was using two apps in the same time (messenger and email for example).

I repaired the software trough the Xperia companion but it didn't help.

Today during the series of restarts I took out the SD card (Samsung Pro microSDHC 32GB UHS-3) and phone just started normally. But after some time of using it without SD card the phone restarted again.

What's the reason of the restarting? Why after taking out the card phone starts without this strange bootloop? I will try to put the video to show you the restarting process.

Help me, please. I don't want to send phone so quickly to the support because they will probably do nothing about it 😕
