Camera issue

I have an issue that when I activavte the phone camera the camera does not respond. All I see is a black screen, and after waiting a minute or so the phone shows an message that the app is not responding and I have an option to wait or close.

This behavior is not consistent however, on a few ocasions the camera did resopond and I can actually see the lens is working and the camera focusing when I press the shutter button. It did take a few photos, but mostly it doesnt work.

If I try to take a photo right now all I see is the black screen, like the camera application is not responding. I have updated my phone with all the latest software updates. Is this an know issue or do I have a defective phone? Any idea how to fix this issue?

Have you tried doing a clean restore? I'd give that a shot first, but if that fails you've really got to get in touch with the place you bought it from.
