Im having a similar issue. My xperia Z is acting as if the GPS doesnt exist. Location services works with Wifi turned on but stops when wifi is off. If i put location mode to "Device only" it cant find my location with the Wifi on either.

For me personally this is a huge issue since the phone is supossed to be my map when being abroad which i am this whole autumn. I have used it this way before on earlier versions of he OS.

Location services have been an issue since the update in May but now that the battery issue finally seems to be fixed to the point where its actually not pointless to even turn location services on, its a great dissapointment to see that this issue remains.

I am a high user of the GPS and recently I have been getting inaccurate results. However today I have been unable to be located by any service requiring gps.

I have gone into system data, purged assistance data, and run a GPS test, and that was also unable to locate my phone.

I'm guessing iv had the chip short out and will likely need to replace my phone or repair.

Any other suggestions?

Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.

Sorry to hear that your GPS has topped working.

I suggest that you also try to reinstall the phones software using Update Service.

If the issue should still remain I think that this needs to be examined and fixed at a repair center. For more information about how to submit your phone for repair and where, contact your local support team.

I'm afraid not. You need a computer (PC Windows or Mac) to reinstall the entire software in the phone.

Perhaps your dealer can assist you with this before you send it to service just to make sure it's not some sort of issue with the software in the phone?
