Hi everyone!

I've bought z2 in Russia 2 months ago and while being there I've never experienced any wifi connectivityproblems.

But when I arrived to Canada I couldn't connect to any wifi network. I've tried to connect to free wifi, to my friend's wifi and to university wifi, but I failed to do it. At the same time my laptop connects to all of those easily. The only wifi my z2 can connect to is hotspot I'm sharing from my laptop using Connectify.

I've read many posts about wifi issues on this forum and followed all the instructions, but I still can't connect to any Canadian wifi.

Any idea why is that so? I really could use some help here.

Try connecting to WiFi without your SIM card inserted in the phone. Get back to me with the results.

Do you use SWR10 ? or something like that ?

If you do, try to downgrade your firmware to 17.1.A.2.55.

Thanks for your replies, but the problem was that Kaspersky Internet Security for some reason was blocking any connection to Canadian wifi. When I changed web filtering settings to less strict It started to connect as it should.

Hi, juanb!
If you have KIS antivirus just go to
settings > web filter > web filter >change it to "standard" (or "normal")
Names of settings options may be slightly different in english, because my version of KIS is russian.
