Sorry, but i can't find any microSD card slot on my standard Z1.

Also. i have noticed my Z1 has frozen twice already in the past two months. That for me is worrying.

Hi there!

Was at a phone shop earlier this afternoon afternoon and there I was comparing the new HTC One M8, Galaxy S4, Galaxy S5 and the Xperia Z1 side by side. For some reason I fell in love with the Z1. Why? It was just the right size (5" screen), its very light, build quality seem topnotch, audio quality (with my headphones) was near amazing, camera quality seem excellent and it was quite fluid and performance seem spot on.

But I want to ask about the curreent 4.4.2 update and other issues.

1. There seem to be no "Stop All" option as regards stopping all apps in thr multitasking button

2. Heard of intermittent wifi disconnections and this problem of wifi signal getting significantly weak even at a not-so distance

3. Camera placment is just wrong. You have a 99.99% chance you will cover it when taking a photo

4. Speaker sound still sounded muffled because of this wtaerproof thing.

Any comments please? Thnks.

1.You can swipe and remove them 1 by one. This is by default,we do not have stop all.

2.About wifi,I do not have problems.Maybe you should try one and see for yourself.

3.You can be careful not to cover the camera. You can forget about the placement when you take great pics.

4.If the phone is submerged,it needs some time to dry up and the speaker must dry up also.

Speaking of the Z1 being "waterproof" i heard that it is not "true" waterproof. Meaning if you don't cover the ports with the flaps water will still enter isn't it? Yes or No?

And how about the headphone jack? If i say wash it in the sink for 10-30 seconds wwith plain water water would essentially enter the phone isn't it? Yes or No?

Of course, water will enter the phone and the circuits will be damaged.A device cannot be completely waterproof, you need to seal it somehow.

About the 3.5 mm input,it seems that water can actually enter there without causing harm.

So, is it entorely safe to wash the phone in the sink for say 10-20 seconds with the 3.5mm headphone jack open without the fear of internal damage?

Also, i heard of issues with the shatterproof glass. I heard it is not "true" shatterproff and scratchproof. And that i still need a "shatterproof screen protector". Is this true?

There is ASF in case of damage of your screen,if it breaks, all the pieces are kept together.

You can wash the phone without covering the 3.5mm input, otherwise why would it be not covered?

No,it will still get scratches, but the screen is protected by the anti shatter film.

ASF means anti shatterproof film, which is applied from the factory on the screen. If you remove it,your screen warranty could be gone.

It is applied from the factory, you can remove it but it will most probably void warranty. You could apply a 2nd film, which will protect the first from scratches and if you really need to change the defaut one,you should only do it in a sony service.
