Hello,

i got a problem with my new xperia x performance.

i cant make an update to android 8.0.

xperia companion says the software is up to date and no ota update

???

If it should have a more recent update and you cannot get it the do the Software Repair again.

This time switch off your phone (charged > 80%)

After starting the software repair menu in Xperia Companion you can tick a box where it says: Device cannot be recognised or is a smart watch.

Do so and continue.

Take care that you do make a proper backup.

Make separate backups from your messenger apps like Signal and WhatApp from within the settings in these apps.
