Unable to reset Xperia X Compact

Hi there,

I updated the phone to Android 10 and I was not able to unlock my phone anymore.

I tried to use Xperia Companion to reset the phone to factory settings but it says that the device is locked and unlock is required to repair the phone.

What should I do? I do not mind losing all the data in the phone.

Hi @roxwindy

Try this:

switch off your device
start Xperia Companion
tick the option in the lower left corner of the screen that your phone cannot be recognised or is a smartwatch
good luck repairing!

Android 10? There is no upgrade to Android 10, or even 9. The Xperia X Compact began at Android 6, was upgraded to Android 7, and then 8, where it remains. Perhaps you meant Android 8?
