I got a 200 GB SanDisk card and that's seems to have the best price to memory ratio. HD recording and 960fps work with that one without issues. (haven't tried 4k)

Also the currnt version does not allow you to move apps to the SD card so the only real application for a really fast and expensive card would be 4 k recording above the capacity of the internal memory

What is currently the best SD card for the xzp? What read/write speeds is the phone able to do?

I had the same question some days ago - before I chose to buy a SanDisk Extreme 128 GB microSDXC card (model SDSQXAF-128G-GN6MA). Here's why I bought this card:

128GB micro sdxc cards are relatively cheap compared to the 256GB models

the phone only supports UHS-I, so buying a UHS-II card would be a waste of money

I wanted to be able to record 4K UHD video, so I looked for cards supporting at least the V30 video speed class (and UHS speed class U3)

As I wanted a guaranteed random read/write performace for apps as well, I chose a card with application performace class A1

All these different speed classes are a bit annoying, but I would look for V30 and A1 if you want a fast sd card for your Sony Xperia XZ.

I bought the above mentioned card about 2 weeks ago and it's performace is really good. Don't ask me about benchmarks - if you want benchmark results, try a Google search...

-- Kareema
