Alarm volume?!

I can't change the volume of my alarms on my new XZ1. When I go into the settings for each alarm there is no volume slider. How do I sort this out?

Hi @agnesjayne, welcome to our forum!

You are correct, there is no setting in the alarm application or when creating a new alarm where you can adjust the alarm volume. You can only adjust the alarm volume in Settings > Sound, by dragging the slider to the right of left depending on if you want to increase or decrease the volume for the alarm.

There may be other alarm application in the Google Play store that you can download and see if you then are able to set the volume for a specific alarm either directly in the application itself or when creating a new alarm.

I will also make sure to forward this internally as user feedback as I can see how it can be very useful to have the alarm that wakes you up in the morning at a higher volume then some other alarms without having to adjust the volume for alarms in the Settings menu of the device.

I have a problem with the alarm volume. I turn it up, because I need it loud to wake up, but every morning, the volume is 70% down from what I set up before. No matter how many times I try to make it louder, it doesn't work, every time I slide the volume up, it goes back by itself, and it has already caused me issues with being late. Please fix this problem.

Can you please try use your phone in Safe Mode to see if the same thing happens? (it might be a third party app that is causing it).

Hi, apparently it worked on safe mode, but I just tried it once. Is there a way to find out which app might be interfering with the alarm volume?

Try unninstalling apps that you installed or changed settings just before the problem appeared (one by one until you find the one that is changing the volume), or try see the apps that you allowed changing system settings in settings>apps and notifications>advanced>app special access>change system settings.

Hi @GabrielaMelo, very sorry to hear about this.

I can see that you have received awesome help from @NunoSEN2 already and that is seems to work correctly while the device is rebooted in safe mode.

It's not that easy to figure out which application is the cause of this, but making sure your applications are updated to the latest version is a great start. If that doesn't change anything, try uninstalling the most recently installed applications and try and find out which one is the culprit!

Feel free to let us know if you figure out which one it is, in case another user experience the same behaviour!

Hi,

I don't know which app might be interfering with the alarm, but ever since I turned the volume up in safe mode, it has not decreased again. So, it is working so far (but I do not change the volume anymore kkkkk)

I really do hope that alarm stays at the correct volume, since it's quite important to wake up every morning at the correct time!

That is pathetic ! All phones have options to set volume, why hasn't this one? What are Sony doing to fix this ?

There IS a setting to adjust alarm volume in all Xperia phones.

The OP had an app interfering with this setting.

Hi @Namremmiz, welcome to our forum!

As @Quester wrote, you can of course change the alarm, ring/notification and media volumes in all of our devices. Why it was not working for @GabrielaMelo was because he/she had a third party application installed in the application that caused this behaviour, but everything is now working again.

Don't understand your doubts, just go to settings >Sound >Alarm volume, or directly press the volume up or down key >down arrow on the right hand side of the screen and use the alarm volume cursor. You even have an option on the "more settings" of every alarm to increase volume while ringing.
