Z3 alarm clock not working Lollipop 5.1.1

Recently the alarm clock function has stopped working. Alarms set but do not start. Since Lollipop 5.1.1
They aren't silent, they just fail to start, confirmation of alarm in x amount of mins / hours appears as confirmation of alarm set.
Time of alarm trigger set point passes and the alarms do not launch.

Lots of bugs with 5.1.1

I wasn't able to recreate your issue, could you boot on safe mode and test it again?

I should have mentioned after restarting it works then intermittently, for instance 2 days without reboot it stops working. Cheers

Hi Morgsy120,

I advise clearing the data for Clock under Settings > Apps > All. Then test the alarm again, if that still doesn't work then boot in safe mode. If the issue does not persist in safe mode that indicates a third party app is causing the issue - in that case reboot the phone and clear the cache/data for your third party apps and delete any that you don't use. If the issue does persist in Safe Mode try running a software repair on the handset.

To run a software repair, download PC Companion. Once installed, open PC Companion and click Start under Backup & restore to back data up. After this you can click Start under Support zone > Phone/tablet software update > Repair my phone/tablet > continue to follow on screen instructions.

After running the repair you can restore data back to the phone by going back to the Backup & restore section.

Was the screen on or off when alarm was supposed to sound?

Was side action key action set to dismiss for that particular alarm? Is there any chance that you dismissed alarm by side keys (volume up or down)?

I have been having this exact same issue for the past few months since installing 5.1.1. After a few days my alarm stops ringing, however it does continue to vibrate when the alarm goes off. In fact, it seems like all of my audible notifications stop (text messages, phone calls) so the phone vibrates only despite being on ring mode. When I restart the phone then it works again for a few days. It's really frustrating because I don't always wake up to the alarm vibrating, and I love this phone but I may have to get rid of it if I can't use it reliably to wake up everyday.

And I wouldn't be able to attempt the whole reboot into safe mode, because once I reboot then the issue resolves itself for a few days.

I just updated my phone and im having the same thing did a factory reset and my alarm works then tried the update again and it doesn't work again

I am having the same issue followed all the steps for it to work for a few days bit has since stopped again. Anyone manage to get a permanent fix as doing a full reset every few days for my alarm seems excessive.

Hi, I had the same problem, xperia z3 alarm sometimes didnt start, what is really big issue. I stopped using Stamina mode and the matter seems to be solved ☺

Same problem, stamina off is not resolving the problem. It is a basic function

I'm going mad here. With Sony z3 compact, alarm has worked fine for months. Now suddenly it does not ring anymore! Sometimes it rings but often not! I did not change any settings. I have only used AM alarm sound with or without vibra, and I need to put phone to silent to not to get other notifications. Naturally I have allowed Alarm to work. I have no stamina mode activated. Heelp!!?

Same thing over here, the New upgrade didnt help. It seems that the clock stops working, the one in the notification tray when you pull it down, while lockscreen clock and widget clock work fine, just so you think that everythings fine.

It just froze time to the day before and i didnt notice it, and alarm didnt go off making me late for work, cant say how frustrated i am right now, as i cant trust probably one of 3 most important things on my phone right now.
