Youtube app is unstable works for a short period of time only.

plz sony fix this very common issue your lollipop firmwares had bugs that needed attention. I'm getting frustrated don't know wether I should keep my phone updated hoping that the youtube app is stable for a long time while new updates does come around.

If you have problems with your YouTube app try refreshing it by doing the following:

- Go to Settings -> Apps -> YouTube -> Force stop, Uninstall updates, Clear data, and restart your phone.
- Go to your Play Store and update YouTube again.

YouTube works fine for me. This isn't a matter for Sony.

This is a general issue with the youtube app. I've had problems like this on all my phones at some point. Reinstalling the app usually fixes the issues but not always. Right now I'm having an issue with the latest versions of youtube where the videos get stuck to fullscreen and I cannot get back to the regular view by holding the phone in portrait mode unless I rotate it around for a while. The latest version of youtube is awful anyway, the interface is pretty much unusable now, I reverted to the factory installed version which is much better and doesn't have that bug. Even better, install OGYoutube, it's a modded youtube client with many features added such as background playing, floating video, downloading, and more. You can find it on XDA.

i did try that trick but seems to be the same for all youtube app version either factory version or updated through google playstore. I have a mx player as my video player replacement do you think it was the cause of its instabilities. I currently have a unlocked phone with firmware version of 23.4.A.1.200

the youtube factory version with firmware 23.4.A.0.546 i doesnt seem to have a trouble with even if i have alternative video player such as mx player. Don't know when i receieved the update firmware 23.4.A.1.200 seems that the youtube factory version is unstable.

Before I updated my phone towards firmware 23.4.A.1.200 from 23.4.A.0.546 the factory version of the youtube app seem to work fine with my alternative video player such as mx player but once got the youtube app version 10.18.55 from the firmware 23.4.A.1.200 its unstable with my mx player app.
