cannot delete text messages sony z2

Hello

I havea sony z2 and i am unable to delete the text messages

i have tried

delete conversations, ticked the one i wanted deleted, clicked on dleted, then confirm delete.

Then i get message deleting conversations, then get the message message deleted

BUT the message is still there

Try Clearing the data.

How to clear data on apps. From your Home screen

1. Tap the Application screen icon.
2. Find and tap Settings > Apps.
3. Swipe to the All tab.
4. Find messaging app tap on the app.
5. Tap Force stop > Clear data.
6. Restart the phone

if that doesn't work, boot on safe mode and then try to delete the messages

Are you using the pre-loaded app or a third-party messaging app?

clearing the data has not worked, resetting to factory setting has not worked either

Hi would force stop and clear data delete all my messages

i just want selected text message deleted
