Xperia Z1 battery stuck at 1%

Hello - I'm seeking help, can see similar posts from users but no solution - so clearly a serious design flaw here for this to occue after only a few Months.

I have had my Z1 for a couple of Months. Yesterday the battery was at about maybe 30 - 35%, and it suddenly jumped to 1%.

I put it on charge immediately, but it remained at 1%, and wasn't charging, eventually it died.

Today I have put it back on charge and it has kickstarted it into life, however the battery remains at 1% and the phone is not identifying itself as being under charge either.

To be very clear, it has not been near water!

The red light beats about every 8 seconds.

I have tried the simultaneous pressing of the power and volume up buttons, which does nothing other than buzz and close it down.

Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.

I suggest that you disconnect the phone from any kind of power source, hold the ON/OFF button + volume up(+) for 5 seconds and you will force a shutdown. When the phone is powered off, connect it to the charger via wall socket and let it charge for 2-3 hours without powering it on to see if this can help.

Okay so iv got exact same problem as you and i just fixed it... It take a few attempts but please be patient!.
Hold down the red button inside the sd slot and hold down the power button at the same time. When it hits the last vibration (1 buzz then a few buzzes =1) do this until its vibrated three times then put the charger in! Leave it and if within 5 mins it hasnt done anything different.. repeat. I done this between 10-20 times and now finally its accepting a charge with being stuck at 1% and not charging for a full day.
