topic Flimsy Camera Flash in XPERIA archive

I am currently using Xperia Z3, and I want to point out to a serious concern about low quality of camera flash provided with almost all Xperia flagship phones, as I have faced same issue with Xperia Z and xperia S which I owned earlier.

I feel ashamed when I take pics at night e.g. in a party with my friends, as the flashlight just seem to be laughing at your face. It can hardly illuminate the faces which are sitting just in front of you. You cannot remotely compare camera flash of ANY xperia flagship phone, with the likes of Samsung camera flash, which is super bright.

Highly disgusted at the decision of Sony to provide a namesake flash in a flagship phone. I feel ashamed when I see all flagships of competitors having great flash, and even phones costing one fourth having a better flash. Why cant Sony include dual flash? Why cant Sony make their flash powerful, so that atleast you can click a respectful pic during night. The flagship just turns into an useless piece when you use its flash to click pics at night or low light condition.

This is my LAST xperia phone, unless Sony provides a powerful flash. Enough of embarresment by the hands of Sony.

Are you listening Sony?

Hi all,

My new D6633 (Z3 Dual) has a real problem using the flash in low light.

I seem to be getting light leakage onto the lens

I do have Ghost Armor protective film on tha back of the phone, though this has now been refitted 3 times and looks perfect to my eye.

I am attaching a pic of the camera lens, so that it can be compared to other Z3 handsets.

Also, is there any protective film over the lens and flash itself? I didn't remove any, but cant really tell whether anything is fitted.

Anyone got any thoughts/suggestions??

I can't understand why you say that, as the camera on the note is reported as being absolutely crap in the dark by many owners. It is also reported as being grainy in dull day light conditions. I have taken many photos and videos with my Z3 and bar user error they have been really good

Try to take a picture without the protective film and see if the problem goes away. If without the film you have no issue then try to cut the part between the lens and the led (basically make an oval hole around both lens and flash). I also have a protective film on the back of my phone (and a full cover, the ringke fusion to be exact) with a hole like I have described and I don't have any light leakage.
